Das Tieranatomische Theater ist Ausstellungsraum und Bühne für experimentelle Darstellungsformen und ein Labor für kuratorische Praktiken. Als Forschungseinrichtung der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin konzentriert das Tieranatomische Theater die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der vielgestaltigen Rolle von Sammlungen, materiellen Dingen und den sie bewahrenden Institutionen. Hierzu werden Wissenschaften und gestalterische Disziplinen in einen Austausch miteinander sowie mit Akteur_ innen aus Künsten und Zivilgesellschaft gebracht. Ziel ist es, die Vielfalt der Wissensformen sichtbar zu machen und dabei zugleich neue Formate und Perspektiven für das Ausstellungsmachen und für Museen zu entwickeln.

stretching senses school festival

Tieranatomisches Theater Philippstr.13, Berlin, Germany

The »stretching senses school« festival exhibits site-specific virtual reality artworks from ongoing research at the Cluster at TA T, in the continuation of the »Stretching Materialities« exhibition. How can we stretch our senses to explore the world at different scales? Around the thematic of planetary health, the festival brings together different projects that evolved out of a co-educative experiment between multimodal anthropology and immersive interaction art, curated by Maxime Le Calvé and Yoonha Kim, assisted by Anne Delle. The event on June 23rd-25th features five new VR installations and a fantastic lineup of digital performance lectures by leading environmental thinkers Tim Morton, Dominic Boyer, Lisa Messeri and John Tresch.

AV Performance : Transcontinental Whispers

Transcontinental Whispers - a transcontinental, collaborative Performance - is an ongoing project which considers the nature of live performance in the digital realm. The concept is roughly based on and best explained by the well known “whispering” game, in which one participant whispers a word in their neighbour's ear, who then whispers what they think they understood into the next person's ear until the word arrives back to the original source. Transcontinental Whispers follows a similar approach; it will, however, use an audio-visual signal instead of a word and not stop after just one round.
