Brooklyn-based interaction designer Lyell Hintz, also known as DotSimulate, will showing you how to integrate AI into TouchDesigner components through hands-on demonstrations and shared project files.
Building on top of his Summer Season 24 course, Lyell will focus on operator design and workflows, drawing from the research he has conducted in the meantime. Thus the course will place less emphasis on ComfyUI itself (for a deeper dive into that, you might want to check out Luna Nanes’ NODE Toolkit course, ComfyUI – Generative AI for Professional Production). Instead, the focus will be on overcoming common challenges when incorporating new workflows by demonstrating how to implement one specific workflow into TouchDesigner, while providing resources to help you adapt it to your own needs.
Additionally, Lyell will dissect two of his own AI integrations, such as ChatTd and ComfyTD, and provide a detailed explanation of how he uses extensions to store core logic and how he leverages OSC to communicate with external processes, offering an optimized process template for tackling new techniques or models. Finally, he will share how he utilizes tools like Claude or other large language models (LLMs) to support initial research and accelerate the coding process.
