This course, led by audiovisual artist and creative coder Darien Brito provides a comprehensive introduction to POPs, TouchDesigner’s powerful new operator family designed for advanced and efficient data manipulation.

Requirements

This module is made for participants, who have a basic understanding of TouchDesigner. If you just getting started, please visit our Beginners Course first.

  • A recent PC or MAC Computer (discrete GPU recommended) with stable internet connection
  • The latest stable TouchDesigner build installed
  • If POPs have not made it into an official release by the time this course is recorded, we will help you to get access to the Alpha program
  • 3-Button Mouse recommended

About the Instructor

Darien Brito is an audiovisual artist and creative coder, currently based in The Netherlands. From a musical background, Darien developed a strong interest in algorithms, computer graphics, generative art and complex systems. He taught himself several programming languages and got immersed in the creation of audio-visual experiences conducted by algorithmic processes. Driven by a pragmatic approach and focusing on strong sensorial experiences, he has created work in a wide array of formats: from music for solo instruments, orchestra, electronics, theatre, film, opera and dance, to visual effects, interactive installations, live audiovisual performances and digital art. He actively works as a programmer and consultant for other artists and is often involved in multidisciplinary collaborations using technology.
