Description

June 7th 2023 6-9 PM (CET) / In English Language / Online via Zoom

Just like lights, lasers allow us to create and transform spaces beyond the screen. The are bundled lightbeams, capable of traversing long distanced with almost no cone. While they had a no so good reputation in the aftermath of the infamous 80ties laser shows, they recently have seen a huge comeback, mainly as light rays, that are visible in humid or foggy air, thus allowing for virtual architectures and futuristic scenographies.

Your instructor, Moritz Hilscher is working with Laseranimation Sollinger, one of the leading providers of laser projectors for show and entertainment. Based in Berlin, Sollingers lasers have been used in many iconic productions and are widely regarded as the best lasers for artistic applications.

Moritz will introduce participants to lasers as a creative medium, explain the dangers and conditions that need to be met to operate them and most of all, will show how one can control lasers from within TouchDesigner, opening up many use cases like laser mapping, audio visualisation and tracking. Participants will get access to Sollingers laser simulation software and example networks, that will help them get started in no time.

After the live lesson you will get access to the recording and the workshop files for one year.
