openDome Meetup II at b-dome

Organised by The NODE Institute and B-Dome,
supported by Derivative, Screenberry, and the vvvv group.

The openDome Meetup returns for its second edition — a casual gathering for creatives, developers, and enthusiasts exploring immersive and fullDome media. This meetup is all about exploration, exchange, and inspiration. There is no fixed agenda or scheduled talks — just an open space to meet like-minded people, share ideas, and see what unfolds together.

B-Dome features a 19-meter geodesic dome built for immersive 360° experiences. Equipped with a negative-pressure projection surface and six 21K Panasonic projectors, the dome delivers a fully enveloping visual and sonic environment with rich 5.1 surround sound.

Bring and Test Your Content

All content must be in Dome Master format:

• 1:1 aspect ratio
• Fisheye deformation (180°)
• Dome framerate: 30 FPS

Submission Options

1. Live streaming via NDI (preferred)

• No time limit
• NDI Tools must be installed
• Firewalls must be turned off (here are some more tipps on how to prepare your computer for NDI)
• Recommended output resolutions:
  • 2048×2048 (reliable)
  • 3072×3072 and 4096×4096 may work; bring a 2048×2048 fallback

2. Pre-rendered content (max 5 minutes)

• Screenberry: H.264 or H.265, 4096×4096 Dome Master format
• Must be brought on fast SSD hard disks with USB 3.0 or faster

Screenings and showcases are first-come, first-served. While we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone, there’s no guaranteed slot.

Audio Specifications

FullDome Show Audio:

• Stereo: 48 kHz, 24-bit (L, R)
• Surround: 48 kHz, 24-bit, 5.1 (L, R, C, LFE, sL, sR)
• Preferably, audio is already encoded in the video clip.
• If delivered separately, provide a single lossless WAV file containing all channels.
• For converting mono channels to multichannel WAV, follow guides for Audacity or other multichannel-capable DAWs/editors.

Live Audio:

• Stereo: 2 balanced channels (L, R) via Behringer X32 Compact
