TouchDesigner is a powerful node-based visual programming environment used by artists, designers, and performers worldwide to create real-time interactive experiences. Whether you’re drawn to generative visuals, live performance, or interactive installations, TouchDesigner offers an intuitive and deeply creative way to bring ideas to life through technology.

This workshop is designed as an accessible entry point into that world specifically for creatives from the Arabic-speaking community. While resources and communities around TouchDesigner are growing, they remain largely English-language dominated. Learning in your own language changes everything: you can focus on understanding rather than translating, ask questions freely, and engage with the material on your own terms.

تاتش ديزاينر هو بيئة برمجة مرئية قوية تعتمد على العقد، يستخدمها الفنانون والمصممون والمؤدون حول العالم لإنشاء تجارب تفاعلية فورية. سواءً كنتَ منجذبًا إلى الرسومات التوليدية، أو العروض الحية، أو المنشآت التفاعلية، فإن “تاتش ديزاينر” يوفر لك طريقة سهلة ومبتكرة لتحويل أفكارك إلى واقع ملموس باستخدام التكنولوجيا.

صُممت هذه الورشة لتكون مدخلاً سهلاً إلى هذا العالم، خاصةً للمبدعين من المجتمع العربي. مع أن الموارد والمجتمعات المحيطة بـ”تاتش ديزاينر” تتزايد، إلا أنها لا تزال تعتمد بشكل كبير على اللغة الإنجليزية. التعلم بلغتك الأم يُغير كل شيء: يمكنك التركيز على الفهم بدلاً من الترجمة، وطرح الأسئلة بحرية، والتفاعل مع المحتوى وفقًا لأسلوبك الخاص.

Even without a technical background, TouchDesigner’s node-based logic makes it possible to think visually and build working systems without writing a single line of code. Developing an understanding of how operators connect and communicate will empower you to construct your own real-time projects, troubleshoot more confidently, and push your creative practice into new territory.

حتى دون امتلاك خلفية تقنية، يتيح لك المنطق القائم على “العُقد” في برنامج تاتش ديزاينر التفكير بصرياً وبناء أنظمة عملية دون الحاجة لكتابة سطر واحد من التعليمات البرمجية. كما أن استيعاب كيفية ترابط وتفاعل هذه “المُشغّلات” سيمكّنك من تشييد مشاريعك الخاصة التي تعمل في الوقت الفعلي، والتعامل مع المشكلات التقنية بثقة أكبر، ودفع ممارستك الإبداعية نحو آفاق جديدة.

This course, led by Lynn Mayya is a 3-hour introductory workshop conducted entirely in Arabic, creating a comfortable and empowering space where participants can explore, experiment, and grow. You’ll get hands-on with the TouchDesigner interface, discover essential operators, and work through a guided project from concept to working visual outcome leaving with both a functional result and the foundation to keep building on your own.

تُعد هذه الدورة، التي تقودها “لين ميا”، ورشة عمل تمهيدية تستمر لمدة 3 ساعات وتُقدَّم بالكامل باللغة العربية؛ حيث توفر مساحة مريحة وداعمة تتيح للمشاركين الاستكشاف والتجريب والنمو. ستخوض تجربة عملية مباشرة مع واجهة برنامج تاتش ديزاينر ، وتكتشف أدوات التشغيل الأساسية، كما ستعمل على إنجاز مشروع موجه بدءاً من مرحلة الفكرة الأولية وصولاً إلى النتيجة البصرية النهائية القابلة للتشغيل؛ لتخرج من الدورة ليس فقط بنتيجة عملية ملموسة، بل أيضاً بالأسس الراسخة التي تمكّنك من مواصلة البناء والتطور بمفردك.

  Get familiar with the interface, understand how it’s structured, and start feeling at home in a node-based environment

• Think in Networks, Not Lines 
  Grasp the logic of node-based programming and learn how operators connect to form living, responsive systems
  استوعب المنطق الكامن وراء البرمجة القائمة على العُقد، وتعلّم كيفية ترابط المُشغّلات لتشكيل أنظمة حيوية ومتفاعلة.
• Explore the Core Operator Families 
  Discover how TOPs, CHOPs, and other essential operators work and when to reach for each one
  اكتشف آلية عمل مُشغّلات “توبس” و “تشوبس” و غيرها من المُشغّلات الجوهرية، وتعلّم متى ينبغي عليك استخدام كل منها.
• Work with Real-Time Image Processing 
  Understand the principles behind manipulating visuals in real time

• Build and Take Something With You 
  Develop a complete small-scale visual project from scratch

This module is made for participants, who have a basic understanding of TouchDesigner. If you just getting started, please visit our Beginners Course first.
