Organised by The NODE Institute, the NODE SESSION brought its fourth edition to a new home: THE_SPACE Kudamm, a container-built venue right on the Ku’damm. Artists, developers, designers and the curious gathered for a night of talks, exchange and encounters spanning creative coding, interactive media and light art.

THE_SPACE : KUDAMM

A modular venue stacked from shipping containers, built as an open experimentation space where community, culture, technology and brands collide. The evening was opened by Matilde on behalf of the SPACE team, who welcomed guests and framed the venue’s mission: a place where ideas grow and different worlds meet.

As host, Stefan Kraus previewed NODE’s winter curriculum: the TouchDesigner Beginner course shifts from live Zoom sessions to self-paced video with tiered cohort support, alongside new professional bundles on large-scale system architecture and AI workflows. He also reflected on the recent masterclasses held in India with The Sixth Sense festival.
Berlin-based creative technologist Celestin Meunier introduced SP Grid, Stage Precision’s new show programming environment, and announced an upcoming 8-week course. He walked through its role as a top-level architecture for media arts — syncing sensors like lidar, handling real-time data, and powering UI dashboards for large installations and live shows.

NIMA GAZESTANI

Interaction designer and NODE instructor Nima (clients: Ferrari, Moleskine, Netflix, Flos, Tod’s, Steinway & Sons, Toyota) shared a six-month collaboration with artist Enrique Agudo for a South by Southwest London exhibition — turning TouchDesigner techniques like slit-scans, growth-feedback loops and face tracking into physically manufactured tapestries..

RANDALL VASQUEZ

A Costa Rican-born developer and vvvv veteran since 2015, Randall — author of VL.OpenCV, VL.Devices.Kinect2 and VL.Devices.Nuitrack, and former Technical Lead at Marshmallow Laser Feast — traced his path from enterprise software into creative coding, with highlights from LINK, vvvv’s summer camp at the Funkinstitut. He spotlighted vvvv (V4)’s easy deployment, distributed rendering across machines, and its open-source, community-driven core.

Link Summercamp 2026

Christoph Ignaz Kiermaier unpacked vvvv’s winter program — 12 courses across beginner, intermediate and professional tracks, from playful patching and particle systems to advanced TouchDesigner-in-vvvv workflows and network monitoring for media servers.

WOLF MORITZ CRAMER

Hamburg-based computational designer and architect Moritz builds parametric tools and installations (including the robotic flower Flos Machina) at the intersection of code and materials. He’s the author of VL.Rhino, and his talk addressed the long-standing gap between precise architectural fabrication models and live interactive systems — showing how the plugin creates a “digital twin” workflow letting vvvv read Rhino files and run Grasshopper scripts directly.

JOSEF PELZ

Generative artist Josef — creator of T3D, the PCR point cloud renderer and an SPH fluid solver, with credits including Artechouse’s Life of a Neuron, the Nobel Prize Museum’s Life Eternal, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2022 tour — gave a live demo of his real-time path tracer built entirely in TouchDesigner, showing physically accurate lighting, reflections and refraction alongside fluid-driven volumetric effects.

KUNAL SINGH / THE SIXTH SENSE

Creative producer Kunal traced his path from software engineer in Bangalore to co-founder of Mantis Shrimp and Berlin-trained media designer. He told the story of The Sixth Sense — India’s first large-scale immersive festival, staged in a 200,000-sq-ft decommissioned glass factory in Bengaluru — and its mission to spotlight heritage architecture and local community without losing Indian cultural identity, from the “Signals” installation to a digital Banyan tree.

TRANSONIC

Berlin audiovisual duo Rahul Sharma (architect/new media artist) and Daniel Rudolf (sound artist), formed in 2021, closed the night with a live generative performance — a real-time negotiation between algorithmic logic and emergent form, staged with support from The Sixth Sense and marking an ongoing exchange between Berlin’s and Bengaluru’s creative-tech scenes.
