Sarah
Al Mamoun
Sarah is a creative technologist and multimedia developer working at the intersection of interactive systems, media, and art. Born and raised in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon and now based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, her practice is shaped by her departure of the region: an interruption that continues to echo in her work. Through analog and digital processes, she explores themes of belonging, memory, and reconnection.
She holds a double major in Computer Science and Computation Arts from Concordia University, and has received the Elspeth McConnell and BMO Internship awards for her work with MUTEK, an international festival of electronic music. Sarah currently works at the Société des Arts Technologiques [SAT], developing user interfaces for immersive applications and artist residencies using C++, Qt/QML, and JS. Her independent practice includes embodied sound and data-driven installations
