The Presentations

There will be three live presentations:
Moritz Hilscher aka. Krumme Visuals is a software engineer and multimedia artist with a background in computer vision and machine learning. He is currently working for LaserAnimation Sollinger GmbH, which is a developer and manufacturer of laser systems for a wide range of multimedia applications. His private works range from custom video effects exploiting vision phenomena, AI based image generation and manipulation, to laser installations. Moritz will demonstrate how to use the laserCHOP in TouchDesigner and talk about some specifics that need to be taken into account when creating content for lasers.

Patrick Doan is a Montreal-born Canadian 3d artist based in Berlin, who has been publishing his works as ‘‘defasten’’ since 2002. With a background in design, film and architecture, he now focuses on dynamic 3d real-time graphics for live performance, music video, installations and streaming. Working mainly in the events and music industry, his future-facing visual designs manifest in audio reactive, generative, deconstructed geometric objects, establishing a simulated digital reality.

Mickey van Olst is a Dutch artist based in Berlin. Operating with a variety of media, often involving experimentation through technology, his work is driven by a somewhat naive curiosity for electronics, programming and design paired with the need for communication through unlikely and unwieldy formats. He will manifest how TouchDesigner can be used in order to assist in developing custom electronic hardware for art installations. Especially in regards to quickly prototyping control interfaces, simulating on-site environments and behavior as well as developing communication between units.

We will close the meeting at 23.30 / 13.30 PM, but we will reserve a table in the neighbouring OMEGA Bar for everybody who wants to continue…

This is the Meetup for TouchDesigner interested open minds based in Berlin or visiting us in Berlin. Its a meeting point for creatives and visual developers, interactive media, digital art, technology and design enthusiast. We are open to anyone who wants to join, no matter if you are an expert or beginner, a famous or breadless artists, a designhead or technologist, a piano player or techno musician. We are especially open for newcomers, P.O.C., women and LGBTQ+ creatives.
