NODE SESSION IV

30 Jul 2026 , 19:00 23:59 CEST

Organised by The NODE Institute and supported by Derivative, THE_SPACE Kudamm, The Sixth Sense and PlusPlusOne, the NODE SESSIONS return for their fourth edition. This time we move to THE_SPACE Kudamm — bringing together artists, developers, designers and curious minds working across creative coding, interactive media and light art for an evening of talks, exchange and lovely encounters. Whether you’re an established creator or simply curious about the field, you’re warmly invited.

For this edition we’re at THE_SPACE Kudamm, an urban experimentation space set inside the container architecture at the heart of Berlin’s City West. It’s a place built for culture, technology and community to meet — an unusual, open setting right on the Kurfürstendamm that’s ideal for a night of ideas and conversation.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nima Gazestani, Randall Vasquez, Wolf Moritz Cramer and Kunal Singh, each bringing their own perspective on community, artistic practice, interactive systems and the tools that make them possible.

THE_SPACE Kudamm is a modular venue built from stacked shipping containers right on the Kurfürstendamm. An urban experimentation space in the heart of Berlin’s City West, it’s a place where community, culture, technology and brands come together — open, adaptable and unexpected.

NIMA GAZESTANI

Photo: Enrique Agudo + Nima Gazestani

Nima Gazestani is an interaction designer, visual artist and creative technology expert whose work spans interactive exhibitions, set design and live performance. He has developed digital-physical projects for brands including Ferrari, Moleskine, Netflix, Flos, Tod’s, Steinway & Sons and Toyota. Formerly Course Leader of the MA in Interaction Design at Domus Academy, he continues to lecture across leading Italian and European design academies, and teaches the Beginner and Intermediate TouchDesigner classes at The NODE Institute. In his talk, Nima shares his practice — from sound-reactive visuals and interactive installations to working with 3D scanning and point clouds.

RANDALL VASQUEZ

Photo: Claudia Montesi

Randall Vasquez is a software developer originally from Costa Rica who has been working in creative coding since 2015. A long-time freelancer with the vvvv group in Berlin, he specialises in computer vision and depth sensors, and has authored libraries including VL.OpenCV, VL.Devices.Kinect2 and VL.Devices.Nuitrack. He also served as Technical Lead for all things vvvv and .NET at Marshmallow Laser Feast. In this short report, Randall shares highlights from LINK — the vvvv community’s long weekend of patching, playing and creating together at the Funkinstitut this June.

20:20 UHR / 8:20 PM WOLF MORITZ CRAMER

Photo: Wolf Moritz Cramer

Wolf Moritz Cramer is a freelance computational designer, an architect and creative technologist based in Hamburg, where he builds custom tools, parametric design systems and interactive installations. Combining architectural thinking with code, hardware and materials, he develops workflows in Rhino and Grasshopper and is the author of VL.Rhino, which bridges Rhino with vvvv. His installations — like the responsive robotic flower Flos Machina — merge sensors, light, sound and code into playful, reactive spaces. In his talk, he looks at interactive media architecture: how embedded technology turns built space into something that responds in real time.

JOSEF PELZ

Photo: Josef Pelz

Josef Pelz is a generative artist and creative coder with a background in mathematics and computer science. Drawn to physics, emergent behaviour and algorithms, he pairs problem-solving with aesthetics and works in real time to build intuition through interaction. His TouchDesigner tools have quietly shaped what the rest of us can make — from T3D, now the foundation for a whole ecosystem, to the PCR point cloud renderer and an SPH fluid solver. His solvers drive immersive shows like Artechouse’s Life of a Neuron and the Nobel Prize Museum’s Life Eternal, and even the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2022 world tour. In this talk he digs into his latest: a pathtracer we’ve been keen to learn more about.

KUNAL SINGH / THE SIXTH SENSE

Kunal Singh is a Berlin-based creative technologist and creative producer with over a decade of experience across stage design, light installations, visual scenography and live events. He started out as a software engineer in Bangalore, co-founded the creative studio Mantis Shrimp, and completed a Masters in New Media Design in Berlin — building a practice across Europe and South Asia. As co-curator and creative producer of The Sixth Sense — India’s first and largest multidisciplinary immersive festival, staged in a century-old glass factory in Bengaluru — he shares an artist talk and looks back at its first edition, which hosted NODE’s first TouchDesigner Sessions in India.

TRANSONIC

Photo: Nikita / Transonic

Transonic is a Berlin-based audiovisual duo formed by architect and new media artist Rahul Sharma and sound artist Daniel Rudolf in 2021. Working with generative systems, real-time computation, and sensory feedback, Transonic constructs live performances that stage the entanglement of organic process and technological structure — environments designed to unfold rather than resolve, each performance a negotiation between algorithmic logic and emergent form.

Presented with the support of our festival partner The Sixth Sense, this audiovisual performance is part of an ongoing exchange between Berlin and Bengaluru, connecting communities working across creative technology, immersive media, and audiovisual art.
