NODE SESSION II

25 Jun 2025 , 19:00 23:59 CEST

Organised by The NODE Institute and supported by Derivative, B-Dome, and PlusPlusOne, the NODE SESSIONS return for their second edition—building on the legacy of the TouchDesigner Roundtable and expanding further into the wide and vibrant world of creative software workflows.

These sessions offer an inspiring meeting point for artists, developers, and designers engaged in experience design, creative coding, and interactive media. Whether you’re a seasoned creator or simply curious about the future of digital expression, you’re warmly invited to join and connect with the community.

Once again, we gather inside the B-Dome—a 19-meter geodesic dome built for immersive 360° experiences. Equipped with a negative-pressure projection surface and six 21K Panasonic projectors, the dome delivers a fully enveloping visual and sonic environment with rich 5.1 surround sound.

This time, we welcome three new voices pushing the boundaries of real-time media art, generative systems, and immersive storytelling. And – we got Robots!

Belcim Yavuz, an interdisciplinary artist and creative technologist, presents her immersive storytelling methods at the intersection of body movement, media, and space.

Toby Götz, co-founder of the legendary VJ collective Pfadfinderei, takes us back to the genre-defining energy of the 1990s, then propels us into the present with a look at his latest innovation: a 360° robotic camera system capable of unprecedented resolution.

Amir Bastan, is an artist and researcher exploring media art, AI, and robotics through psychoanalytic theory. He is a doctoral researcher at Creative Robotics and a lecturer at the University of Arts Linz.

To conclude, we warmly invite all attendees to showcase your pre-rendered content on the Dome, or tap into the sensory world of Spot via MQTT and let your visualisations / sonifications go wild.

22:30 UHR / 10:30 PM / Sozialising / OPEN DOME / SPOT SESSION

We stay for some cold drinks and lovely conversations at the B-Dome bar.

Additionally, we warmly invite anyone interested in experiencing their content in the FullDome format. Please bring a Dome Master file (4096 × 4096 px, 30 FPS, ProRes422).
Further, we will have the opportunity to tap into the live stream of data, that we can subscribe to from Spot, our little robot friend from Austria. This part is experimental and not meticulously organised – let’s embrace uncertainty and play around : )
