In this workshop, Berlin-based multimedia artist Marta Pang — known for her collaborations with international performers such as Kylie Minogue and Calvin Harris — introduces participants to creating audio-reactive visuals in TouchDesigner. Drawing from her experience designing glitch-based, high-energy content for concerts and festivals, she demonstrates how sound can shape real-time visual compositions.
The session covers practical techniques for building rhythm-responsive networks, generating glitch textures, strobe-like pulses and abstract motion, while working with efficient TOPs-based structures that remain flexible and performance-ready. Participants receive downloadable project files and templates to continue developing their work independently.
Beyond the technical process, Marta provides insights into navigating the professional field: how to build a recognisable portfolio and use social media strategically for visibility and new opportunities. She also addresses the business side of creative work: pricing, usage rights, and communicating with clients or collaborators while protecting artistic integrity. Through real-world examples, she shows how to balance personal style with industry expectations.
By the end of the workshop, participants will understand how to translate sound into powerful visual performance and how to position this practice within a professional artistic context.

This module is designed for participants with an intermediate understanding of TouchDesigner . For a more basic introduction or if you are just getting started, please visit our Beginners Course first.

About the Instructor
Marta Pang is a Berlin-based multimedia artist from Hong Kong, specializing in audio-visual design, generative art, and creative technology. With a background in photography and videography, she transitioned into new media art in 2022, embarking on a journey to create daily generative visuals using TouchDesigner. Her work explores high-energy audio reactivity, glitch-based aesthetics, chaotic patterns, and rhythmic abstraction. Her approach focuses on maximizing output with simple networks, transforming basic nodes into complex, evolving compositions.
