NODE Gallery Night – Robert Seidel

In collaboration with Studio1111, we invite renowned artists to present their work inside the Studio’s unique projection cave, a destination redefining art, space, music, and community in the 21st century. The first edition featured Robert Seidel, a pioneer of digital and abstract filmmaking with more than 20 years of groundbreaking work. In a retrospective screening moderated by NODE’s Harshini J. Karunaratne, we journeyed through key milestones of Seidel’s creative universe, fostering dialogue between the artist and the community.

A group of visitors, including Marta Pang watches the live AV performance by OVAL and MXZEHN at the NODE Gallery Night Robert Seidel at Studio1111, Berlin

The evening concluded with an experimental audio-visual performance: Markus Popp, working under the pseudonym OVAL was accompanied by Stefan Kraus (MXZEHN), who reimagined Seidel’s visuals in a transformative live remix, creating a space- and time-bending experience.

To commemorate the exhibition and add a physical dimension to the intangible digital artworks presented, The NODE Institute is issuing a limited edition of 12 exclusive A2 (420 × 594 mm) prints, signed by Robert Seidel.

The prints feature several 3D objects, that Robert Seidel has used in some of the films that have been part of the screening during NODE Gallery Night. Those objects have been unwrapped and sorted to create the graphic elements of the print that has been manufactured with love in yellow and turquoise on one of the few A2 Riso machines in Europe (and the only one currently working) at Drucken3000 in Berlin on Munken Print White 150 gsm paper.
