DESCRIPTION:Organised by The NODE Institute and B-Dome\, supported by Derivative\, Screenberry\, and the vvvv group. \n\n\n\nThe openDome Meetup returns for its second edition — a casual gathering for creatives\, developers\, and enthusiasts exploring immersive and fullDome media. This meetup is all about exploration\, exchange\, and inspiration. There is no fixed agenda or scheduled talks — just an open space to meet like-minded people\, share ideas\, and see what unfolds together. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nB-Dome features a 19-meter geodesic dome built for immersive 360° experiences. Equipped with a negative-pressure projection surface and six 21K Panasonic projectors\, the dome delivers a fully enveloping visual and sonic environment with rich 5.1 surround sound. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBring and Test Your Content\n\n\n\nAll content must be in Dome Master format: \n\n\n\n\n1:1 aspect ratio\n\n\n\nFisheye deformation (180°)\n\n\n\nDome framerate: 30 FPS\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExample of a Dome Master\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSubmission Options\n\n\n\n1. Live streaming via NDI (preferred) \n\n\n\n\nNo time limit\n\n\n\nNDI Tools must be installed\n\n\n\nFirewalls must be turned off (here are some more tipps on how to prepare your computer for NDI)\n\n\n\nRecommended output resolutions:\n\n2048×2048 (reliable)\n\n\n\n3072×3072 and 4096×4096 may work; bring a 2048×2048 fallback\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2. Pre-rendered content (max 5 minutes) \n\n\n\n\nScreenberry: H.264 or H.265\, 4096×4096 Dome Master format\n\n\n\nMust be brought on fast SSD hard disks with USB 3.0 or faster\n\n\n\n\nScreenings and showcases are first-come\, first-served. While we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone\, there’s no guaranteed slot. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAudio Specifications\n\n\n\nFullDome Show Audio: \n\n\n\n\nStereo: 48 kHz\, 24-bit (L\, R)\n\n\n\nSurround: 48 kHz\, 24-bit\, 5.1 (L\, R\, C\, LFE\, sL\, sR)\n\n\n\nPreferably\, audio is already encoded in the video clip.\n\n\n\nIf delivered separately\, provide a single lossless WAV file containing all channels.\n\n\n\nFor converting mono channels to multichannel WAV\, follow guides for Audacity or other multichannel-capable DAWs/editors.\n\n\n\n\nLive Audio: \n\n\n\n\nStereo: 2 balanced channels (L\, R) via Behringer X32 Compact\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re an artist experimenting with immersive formats or simply curious about fullDome experiences\, come and connect with Berlin’s immersive media community — and help shape what happens inside the dome. \n\n\n\nWhile B-Dome generously supports this meetup\, we still need to cover some costs. Equipped with a negative-pressure projection surface and six 21K Panasonic projectors\, the dome delivers a fully enveloping visual and sonic environment with rich 5.1 surround sound. \n\n\n\nIf you are interested in experiencing your content in the FullDome format\, please bring a Dome Master file (4096 × 4096 px\, 30 FPS\, ProRes422 or H.264). Please note that any video has to be captured to the playback system \, which means your pieces shouldn’t be longer than 3 minutes.
