TouchDesigner Roundtable Berlin XXXV – May 13th at Catalyst

It is a particular honour to welcome Jan Gryczan, the force behind the remarkable resource alltd.org, dedicated to collecting and maintaining TouchDesigner tutorials and community knowledge, alongside Bahram Pourghadiri, creator of seeplayshow.com, and audiovisual artist Abstraqt.

Hosted by Catalyst Berlin—an international learning community based at the historic Funkhaus—this Roundtable is embedded in a practice-driven environment that connects creative production, interdisciplinary arts, and technology. With its hands-on, collaborative approach to education across sound, music, film, and visual media, Catalyst provides a fitting context for this conversation, further reflected through Abstraqt’s role as part of its teaching community.

Bringing together perspectives from community building, tool development, artistic practice, and education, the Roundtable explores real-time image-making, system design, and immersive media. From generative visual systems and performative control interfaces to questions of how media art can engage with activism and social justice—as explored in Abstraqt’s work—it reflects on how visual languages are developed, shared, and performed across contexts, and how they can operate within broader cultural and political frameworks.

If you can not attend the in-person event in Berlin, do not worry — we will stream the talks on our YouTube channel.

abstraqt is a multimedia body that inhabits physical and digital spaces. In its practice it searches for and builds relations between humans, communities, media, as well as between art and activism. Deeply reliant on digital tools, abstraqt’s work is an act of extension of physical environments. It creates spaces where new forms of within-technological spirituality emerge. Multimedia by nature, abstraqt’s installations, live performances and curated events let sound, image, light, space and body move as parts of one organism.
