Dr. Ruokon Chen : Creating Connections –
Digital Art Innovation and Community Building

Ruokun will share his innovative practices in the field of digital art and the story of how he has fostered a thriving creative community. He will also talk about how he first connected with TouchDesigner and eventually founded a community that has now grown to more than 200,000 members. He authored the first TouchDesigner book published in China, which has since become a standard textbook in many digital art programs. Through the international collaboration opportunities created by his community, an increasing number of cross-border artistic exchanges have become possible.


Dr. Ruokun Chen is the founder of the interactive media studio Digital FUN as well as the founder of TEA, a leading new media education community in China. He serves at multiple universities and the National Laboratory of Digital Art. In China, he established the FLARE International New Media Art Festival as a producer. His work bridges commercial innovation, technology, education, and creative practice in interactive and generative media art.
