Sharing vs Marketplace : Community Quo Vadis?

The TouchDesigner community grew from a small, collaborative niche, where mutual support was essential. Today, commercialization of tutorials, learning resources, and tool development has fragmented the ecosystem. While funding enables creators like Josef Pelz to produce exceptional tools, low-quality, profit-driven content often benefits platforms rather than the community itself. This panel examines how the TouchDesigner community can counteract these trends and amplify the benefits of knowledge sharing. How can open collaboration, mentorship, and communal practices be preserved? We will explore strategies to maintain a friendly, non-competitive spirit, ensuring that future generations inherit a supportive ecosystem that values learning, experimentation, and shared creative growth over commodification.
