AI and Creativity : Process vs Result
AI offers instant results, bypassing the iterative processes that traditionally shape creativity. Tools like TouchDesigner demand deep understanding, training the mind and nurturing innovation. AI shortcuts are seductive but raise fundamental questions: is the act of creating valuable on its own, or is the result now the only measure of worth? This panel investigates how economic valuation and demand for immediate outputs threaten experimentation and research, the true drivers of innovation. Could AI push artists toward analog practices, or can digital creativity be reimagined to embrace slow, exploratory processes, valuing curiosity, play, and discovery over predefined outcomes, while maintaining creative freedom and artistic fulfillment?
