DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Lab!\n\n\n\nThe Spatial Media Lab is hosting their sixth meetup! Big news this time around\, they will be hosting their meetups on the last Tuesday of each month\, so keep an eye out for their newsletter. \n\n\n\nThe goal for this meetup is to bring people in the field of spatial media together to connect and discuss\, hoping to grow the quality of the work and expand the tools that are created. As this meetup is non-hierarchical\, SML will simply host the space and discuss what participants are working on and then let the the night flow. If you have something you’d like to present\, please reach out to SML in advance!  \n\n\n\nThe theme of this meetup is From Zero to Spatial. We want to hear from you how you start a spatial audio project. \n\n\n\n\nWhat DAW do you use and why did you choose it?\n\n\n\nWhat plugins/tools do you use?\n\n\n\nHow do you approach a new project?\n\n\n\nAt what point do you start thinking about spatializing the audio?\n\n\n\n\nThese questions\, and more will be address in the discussion. It’s a great opportunity for folks that are new to spatial audio to learn as well as those more advanced to share their knowledge\, tips\, and tricks. \n\n\n\nWhen? It’s happening on Tuesday\, 22.08.2023 at 7pm (19:00) Berlin time. \n\n\n\nWhere? This month we will host this meetup digitally in Gather.Town. If you have something you’d like to present\, please reach out to them in advance! \nThe theme of this meetup is Artists & Engineers. The Spatial Media Lab aims at bringing people together who are designing the tools for spatial media performances\, compositions\, and installations as well as people who make use of those tools to create a dialogue that pushes both parties forward. \nYou’ll hear from developers and engineers about what they are making and talk directly with the artists that use them\, discussing how they use the tools and what features they wish to see. We also want to hear from you what tools and techniques you’ve been using to make immersive sound and video art. \nThis month\, the Spatial Media Lab is rebuilding their physical presence in Berlin by holding the event at The NODE Institute in Neukölln. But\, so none of their digital friends feel left out\, they are trying the experiment of holding a hybrid digital/physical event. Digital participants can still join on Gather.Town\, we will have two computers set up in the room\, so our digital and physical participants can talk together. We’ll also have the presenters in Gather.Town so you won’t miss a thing.
