Global Res Multiplier
Knowing that most of you will be struggeling with the resolution, I wanted to point out that there is a “Global Resolution Multiplier” that can be applied in the Preferences. This allows you to reduce resolution on selected TOPs and, as the option is on per default – set this Multiplier with one click throughout all of a TOE file. This allows you to work on a scene in e.g. half the resolution (or whatever factor allows you to work fluidly) and change it back to full resolution on render time.
There is a draw back however, which is that the multiplier is applied cummulative when chaining up generator TOPs, which can lead to unwanted reduction down the line (see warning in example).
It may also have unwanted consequences, when not applied carefully, as it will reduce the resolution of every texture (where it is not disabled) like changing the amount of particles in a GPU particle system when you actually just want to affect the render resolution.
It could still be useful if applied consciously and one could use a script to turn the selected operators GRM off at render time.

Displace Texture Seam Solution
Another small example adresses Rauls issue of the non-wrapping texture.
The idea would also work for other methods, where on texture is used to place/displace geometry or texture. Basically one would make sure that the part of the texture that reaches the edges has the same or neutral value on both ends, in the case of displace neutral would mean all values at 0.5
