Dennis Fabian Peter : Divergence as Method
In his talk, Dennis Fabian Peter ( aka Non-Linear) will illustrate his artistic philosophy through a series of selected projects, using them as entry points to discuss process, experimentation, and decision-making. He will show how TouchDesigner functions as a central tool within his practice, enabling non-linear workflows, iterative exploration, and the embrace of unpredictability. By breaking down concrete examples, the talk reveals how technology, code, and real-time systems support an approach driven by divergence, discovery, and the productive role of “happy accidents” in creative work.
Dennis Peter operates a media-arts practice called Non-Linear. He is is primarily driven by experimentation and deconstruction. Much of Dennis’s works explore the relationships between organic systems and human-built systems through the filter of technology. Spanning across various mediums of light, sound, visuals and space, Peter’s artistic work often involves creating immersive and interactive environments that put the viewer in centre stage. The beauty of experimenting with technology, code & art is that the process takes you on a journey of multiple divergences. The unmatched joy in following these divergences from one happy accident to another is what fundamentally drives Non-Linear.
